ASTM A312 TP304 Stainless Seamless Steel Pipe
TP304 stainless Seamless steel pipes are ideal for most processing technologies as well as indoor and outdoor applications. TP304 stainless steel is a high-strength material with excellent corrosion resistance and is ideal for liquid channels. ASTM A312 is the standard specification for seamless and welded stainless steel pipes. ASTM A312 TP304 tubing is usually pushed and pulled from a circular blank of the raw material and is more resistant to corrosion than ordinary 304 stainless steel tubing.
Production process of TP304 stainless Seamless steel pipe
1. Prepare blanks: Prepare semi-finished steel with square or circular cross sections. The billets are heated in the furnace to high temperatures of about 1200°C to 1300°C to ensure that the metal is malleable and suitable for subsequent process steps.
2. Extrusion or perforation: After the billet is thoroughly heated, it is pushed into or "squeezed" through the mold to form an open tube shape.
3. Elongation: Once the open tube shape is formed, it will be stretched through a series of rolling mills. This process ensures that the pipe reaches the desired diameter and wall thickness.
4. Heat treatment: The slim tube is heat treated in a hot furnace, a process called annealing. This treatment enhances the mechanical properties of the pipe, such as tensile strength and hardness, while improving its corrosion resistance.
5. Cold drawing: For pipelines requiring strict dimensional tolerances, the cold drawing process should be implemented. This process involves pulling the pipe through a series of molds to further reduce its diameter and wall thickness, providing excellent dimensional accuracy and a smooth surface.
6. Straightening and cutting: After cold drawing, the pipe is straightened and cut to the required length in the straightening machine.
7. Inspection and testing: The final step in the manufacturing process of TP304 seamless pipe is strict inspection and testing. This stage confirms that the product meets the required specifications. Standard test methods include hardness test, tensile test and ultrasonic examination.
Composition and performance:
Chemical composition: The chemical composition of 304 seamless steel pipe is mainly: C (carbon) 0.08%max, S (sulfur) 0.03%max, P (phosphorus) 0.04%max, Si (silicon) 0.75%max, Mn (manganese) 2%max, Ni (nickel) 8.0%-11%, Cr (chromium) 18.0%-20.0%, Fe (iron) 66.34%-74%.
Performance: Its minimum tensile strength is 515Mpa and minimum yield strength is 205Mpa.
Chemical properties: 304 seamless pipe has good resistance to a variety of acid, alkali and salt solutions, suitable for use in harsh environments, it also has high temperature resistance, and can maintain stable performance under high temperature conditions.
Application scenario:
Chemical industry: Used in chemical storage tanks, pipelines and reactors.
Food industry: Equipment for conveying and processing food and beverages.
Pharmaceutical industry: Used in pharmaceutical equipment and sterile pipes.
Construction industry: Used for structural support, railings, decoration, etc.
In summary:
ASTM A312 TP304 stainless Seamless steel pipe is an ASTM standard 304 stainless steel pipe, with excellent corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, commonly used in the chemical, food processing, pharmaceutical and construction industries of pipes and equipment, able to work stably in high temperatures and a variety of chemical media.
