API Tubing pipe is a relatively small-diameter pipe that is run into a well to serve as a conduit for the passage of oil and gas to the field surface facilities for processing. Tubing must be adequately strong to resist loads and deformations associated with production and work overs. Further, tubing must be sized to support the expected rates of production of oil and gas.

API tubing pipe is inserted inside the wellbore through the oil well casing pipe, which helps the transportation of the hydrocarbons to the surface. It is pipe either used for transporting natural gas or crude oil to the facilities for further processing after the drilling is complete. Similar to the drill pipe and casing, tubing is subjected to high pressure during the extraction process, and needs to be thick, strong, and sturdy. Production tubing is available in various sizes ranging from ¾” to 4 ½”.
The oil well tubing protects the oil well casing from wear and tear due to corrosive fluids, sand, paraffin etc. Tubing can be replaced in case of damage, which is not possible with oil well casing.

Applications:
This kind of seamless oil pipe is mainly used in oil well for extracting petroleum and natural gas.
1. Extracting Oil and Gas
After drilling an oil well and fixing it, place API 5CT tubing in the oil-string casing so as to extract oil and gas to the ground.
2. Water Injection
When the downhole pressure is not enough, it is necessary to use seamless oil pipes to inject water into the well.
3. Steam Injection
In the heavy oil thermal recovery process, we often use insulated API 5CT tubing to inject steam to the downhole.
4. Acidification and Fracturing
In order to improve the production of oil and gas wells, we need to transport acidulated and fractured media or condensate to the hydrocarbon reservoir (hydrocarbon zone). This process is finished through seamless oil pipes.
