High-frequency welded pipe (HF or HFW pipe) is a type of steel pipe that uses high-frequency current to heat the edges of a steel strip to a welding temperature, then forms a weld seam through extrusion. It is widely used in petroleum, natural gas, building structures, automobile manufacturing, and machining.

High-frequency welded pipe is a type of ERW steel pipe. ERW steel pipe = includes high-frequency welded pipe (HFW) + other resistance welded pipe forms. In modern industry, almost all ERW pipes are high-frequency welded, so the two are often used interchangeably.

II. Advantages in Welding Quality and Performance

1. High weld quality: High-frequency current utilizes the skin effect and proximity effect to concentrate heating on a localized area of the weld, reducing the heat-affected zone and preventing deformation or performance degradation of the base material. Concentrated and controllable energy, sufficient filler metal, and prevention of incomplete welds or build-up ensure that the physical properties of the weld are close to those of the base material. The mechanical properties of high-frequency welded pipes after treatment can reach or exceed those of seamless steel pipes.

2. Minimal internal and external burrs: Precise parameter control (such as power and welding speed) reduces weld burrs, improving the surface finish and tolerance accuracy of the finished product.

III. Cost-effectiveness advantages

1. Low raw material cost: No alloy steel is required; the main materials are carbon steel and stainless steel, with wide material compatibility and lower procurement costs.

High-frequency welding technology can significantly reduce material consumption. For example, high-frequency welded H-beams are lighter and have a higher strength-to-weight ratio than hot-rolled H-beams of the same specifications, reducing the cost of steel structure materials.

2. Low energy consumption and maintenance costs: Power consumption is significantly lower than traditional welding equipment. The equipment has a compact structure and is easy to maintain.

IV. Flexible and wide-ranging applications

1. Strong adaptability: In addition to carbon steel, it can also weld stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, copper, titanium, and other alloy materials. The finished products can be used in various applications such as fluid transportation, structural support, mechanical structures, automotive parts, and furniture.

2. Flexible size specifications: Different diameters can be customized, and various cross-sections such as round, square, and rectangular tubes can be produced.
