The following is the size specification of A53 schedule 40 pipe
Schedule 40 tubing is based on ASME B36.10M standard, with nominal diameters (NPS) ranging from ½ "to 24" and corresponding wall thicknesses. Take the common 2 "(outer diameter 2.375") pipe as an example. Schedule 40 has a wall thickness of 0.154 "(about 3.91 mm) and performs well in water, gas and steam systems under moderate pressure.
Meanwhile, Schedule40 tubes have the following advantages in manufacturing and installation:
Strong versatility: From ½ "to 8" (and even larger diameters), it almost covers all common piping systems and is convenient for matching with valves, flanges, joints and other pipe fittings.
Corrosion resistance: It can be protected by various methods such as hot-dip galvanizing and internal epoxy coating, and is suitable for water supply, gas transportation and outdoor structures.
Convenient processing: Consistent wall thickness and small dimensional tolerance, ensuring good consistency and sealing performance when processing, welding and threaded joints.
High cost performance: Compared with the thinner Schedule 10/20, Schedule 40 offers a higher safety margin; It is more economical than Schedule 80 and Schedule 160, and can balance intensity and cost.
