ASTM B622 is the primary specification for Hastelloy seamless pipe. It covers seamless pipe and tube made
from nickel and nickel-cobalt alloys and includes both UNS N10276 (C276) and UNS N06022 (C22) among the applicable alloy grades. The specification covers requirements such as chemical composition, mechanical properties, tension testing, hydrostatic testing, nondestructive electric testing, and product weight.
Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to both oxidizing and reducing environments. It is particularly suitable for chemical processing, pollution control, and applications involving aggressive acids, chlorides, and other corrosive media.
Hastelloy C22 (UNS N06022) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy developed for excellent resistance to oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals, pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Its higher chromium content provides strong resistance to oxidizing media and chloride-induced pitting.
